The Sugar Glider is a small gliding possum, that has the ability to glide through the air. It uses its large bushy tail to steer itself to safety. The Sugar Glider is nocturnal, and looks for sweet foods such as nectar and pollen to feed on at night. During the day however, you will find the sugar glider sheltering in a hollow tree, lined with leafy twigs. The Perth mint produced this $1 coin and the accompanying stamps to show off this unique animal.
