Christmas is a time for festive gatherings with family and friends, and for decorating our homes with Christmas trees, large or small. In the case of individuals kept apart by distance it is an opportunity to connect in other ways, including sending greeting cards through the mail. For children, and also perhaps for those young at heart, letters are sent to Santa at this time of year, in the hope that upon making it onto the 'nice' list exciting presents will arrive on Christmas Day!
