Struck to Brilliant Uncirculated standard, this UK 50p coin features colour printing that brings the reverse design depicting a giant deer to life. The design by palaeo-artist Robert Nicholl features a scientifically accurate depiction of the giant deer and how it would have appeared when it was alive. The giant deer was one of many large mammals to live during the Ice Age, and its vast antlers made it difficult to manoeuvre in dense woodland, so it preferred lightly wooded areas or grassland. The packaging and reverse design have been created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum and expert guidance from palaeobiologist Professor Adrian Lister.
